Concerning Medicines/Supplements

Medicines and/or supplements prescribed by Dr. Elliott on an ongoing basis can be picked-up without an appointment during the times mentioned above.

All of the products we carry are manufactured by companies we trust and we believe to be of the highest quality available. We have been using most of these products for many years. We have a low mark-up so that we can make available to you the best products at competitive prices. We hope that this arrangement supports your health as well as the health of our small family business.

Prescription Medicines

Dr. Elliott’s Oregon naturopathic physician’s license allows him to prescribe many prescription only medicines (most antibiotics, all hormones and many other medications).

If you and Dr. Elliott have determined that a prescription medicine is best for your healing, our office can call your prescription in to the pharmacy of our choice. We will need to know:

  1. if there is any history of allergies or negative reactions to any medications;
  2. the name, address and phone number of the pharmacy to call;
  3. date of birth;
  4. home phone number;
  5. weight - if the prescription is for a child under the age of 13.

Many insurance companies have policies that provide coverage for naturopathic services.

Our policy is that we will bill any primary insurance policy you may have that covers our services. We highly recommend that you discuss your policy’s coverage of our services before your appointment with us. Call the pre-authorization number on the back of your card and ask:

  1. If your plan covers the naturopathic services of Dr. Andrew Elliott;
  2. To what amount, if any, you have met your deductible;
  3. What your co-pay amount will be will be.

You will be charged in full at the time of service if you have not yet met your deductible. We will then bill your company so that our office charge is applied to your deductible.

Once you have met your deductible you will be charged at the time of service for your co-pay and for any supplements or medicines.

At the present time we do not accept Oregon Health Plan coverage and are not accepted by Medicare/Medicaid.

This office cannot accept responsibility for collecting an insurance claim or for negotiating a settlement on a disputed claim. In all cases, you are ultimately responsible for making sure your bill is paid.

If a primary physician referral to our office is required by your policy, it is your responsibility to obtain and maintain it.

Payment Policy

Unless you have made a previous agreement with our office, payment is due at the time of service. If you’d like, at the time you make your appointment, we will give you an estimate of your office visit charge. This estimate will not include any medicines, supplements or lab charges.

We accept cash, checks, MasterCard and VISA, including debit cards. A reasonable charge will be added for any returned checks in order to cover our bank’s returned check charges.

Unless we have made a prior arrangement with you, full payment of your account that has not been made within 60 days will be subject to a 2% per month carrying charge plus a $7.00 mailing charge for each bill we send.

Phone Consultations

Consultations over the phone for either a new, acute problem or follow-up on a chronic problem will be charged the same as an in-office visit. Dr. Elliott discourages phone consultations because he feels that they are much less accurate. Much more information can be gained by an in-office visit.

You will not be charged for a phone consultation if Dr. Elliott has specifically asked you to report back by phone within a short time after your visit.

Missed Appointments

Please inform, us at least 24 hours in advance, if you must cancel an appointment. There may be another person who needs to be seen in the time you vacate.

We reserve the right to charge you for the office visit you have scheduled if you:

  1. do not give us 24 hours notice of a missed appointment or
  2. are late for an appointment by more than half the time scheduled.
